General Questions


What if I don’t see my contact lens brand?

Email us at [email protected] to let us know what brand you want and we’ll find a comparable brand. Once we do, we’ll notify you to sign up for that comparable brand, but later order your desired brand once you provide your prescription.

What if I don’t see my solution?

Email us at [email protected] to let us know and we’ll substitute it for whatever selected solution you choose.

Why do you need my eye clinic info?

We need that info to call the clinic and confirm the pricing for your eye exam & contact lens fitting so your reloadable card can be loaded with the correct amount. This is also why it is very important to notify us immediately if you decide to visit a different clinic for your exam/fitting.

Am I covered if I need different prescriptions or brands for each eye?

Yes, every box covers both eyes’ prescriptions, even if you have different prescriptions/brands for each eye, and we have a number of brands, such as Acuvue, Biofinity, and Air Optix.

Do you offer daily contact lenses?

Yes, we offer a number of daily lenses.

Are there any other contact lens solutions available besides those listed?

No, those are the only brands available at this time, but if there is any solution you’d like to see in the box, please email us at [email protected]

What is the difference between the wipes & soap?

Both are products used to clean the hands before handling a contact lens to prevent dirt & oils from getting on the contact lens.

Are your products FDA-approved?

Yes, all products are FDA-approved.

What are acceptable forms of payment?

We accept debit cards & all major credit cards.

How do I update my billing & shipping address?

That’s easy, simply log into your Optikal account to update your address.

What should I do if I suspect fraudulent activity on my account?

Please contact us immediately at [email protected] to review account and issue any applicable refunds.

After signing up for the first box, when will it ship?

Total time to receive your box will depend greatly on how quickly you get your exam and prescription. Once your prescription has been verified, your box will generally ship within 7 business days, and subsequent boxes will arrive every 3 or 6 months after that. On average, most customers receive their first box within 1 week, though some customers that require specialty lenses (such as XR or XR toric lenses) may have to wait longer, as those lenses are custom-made.

What is the cost of shipping?

Optikal provides free shipping for both our OVP and subscription box products.

Is there expedited shipping?

No, there currently isn’t an option for expedited shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

While we do ship in the continental US, as well as Hawaii, Alaska, & Puerto Rico, we do not currently ship anywhere else in the world.


OVP Questions


How long do I have to take my eye exam and upload the prescription?

Your card will arrive 3-5 business days. From the date it arrives, you have 2 weeks to get complete your exam and then upload your prescription to your customer portal.

Where/how can I upload my prescription?

Log into your customer portal and click on the Upload Prescription folder. Then use file upload to proceed to upload a picture of your contact lens prescription.

What will I get in an OVP box?

You will get the following:

For monthly & bi-weekly contact wearers

  • An entire year’s supply of contacts
  • 4 contact solution bottles
  • 1 travel size solution bottle
  • 12 contact cases (to be replaced every month)
  • 1 bottle of eyecare gummies
  • 1 bottle of rewetting drops
  • 20 Optikal hand wipes
  • 3 packets of Optikal soap
  • Soft contact lens inserter

For daily contact wearers

  • An entire year’s supply of contacts
  • 1 bottle of eyecare gummies
  • 1 bottle of rewetting drops
  • 20 Optikal hand wipes
  • 3 packets of Optikal hand soap
  • Soft contact lens inserter

How big a supply of contacts does an OVP box come with?

You get an entire year’s worth of contacts.

What happens if my prescription changes during the year?

Then you can upload the new prescription and send back your unopened boxes of contacts to be exchanged for lenses with the updated prescription.

What is the return/refund policy for OVP boxes?

Once the reloadable card is used to make a purchase (i.e. pay for your eye exam), there will not be any refunds issued. However, if you request to cancel and return the reloadable card, you will not be charged further.

Also, if you make a purchase with your reloadable card, but fail to provide a prescription, we will send out a box with everything but the contact lenses and your monthly price will NOT be adjusted. Should you provide a prescription at a later time, we will then order & ship out your lenses.

When/how can I cancel my service?

You can cancel at any time before the reloadable card is used. Once it is, all resulting charges are final and no returns will be accepted nor refunds issued.

What’s included in the box?

That depends on the type of lenses you require:

Monthly Contact Wearers

  • 6-month supply of contacts
  • 2 bottles of contact solution
  • 6 contact cases

  • 1 bonus item

Bi-Weekly Contact Wearers

  • 3-month supply of contacts
  • 1 bottle of contact solution
  • 3 contact cases
  • 5 Optikal hand wipes
  • 1 bonus item

Daily Contact Wearers

  • 3-month supply of contacts
  • 5 Optikal hand wipes
  • 1 bonus item
Does every box come with a bonus item?

Yes, we currently have a number of different bonus items in rotation.

How often does my box ship?

If you wear bi-weekly or daily contacts, your box ships every 3 months. If you wear monthly contacts, your box ships every 6 months.

Is it possible to change brands of lenses or solution?
Yes, you can change your brand of lenses or solution any at the time. You can either log into your online account to make the desired changes or just email us at [email protected] with your first & last name, as well as your desired changes and/or a valid prescription for the new lens brand (if desiring a change of lenses), before the next box ships out.
Can I pause my account?

Of course. Simply log into your account to pause your account or send us an email titled "Account Pause" to [email protected] with your first & last name included in the email & we will pause your account.

How does the subscription work?
First, you customize your box by choosing the desired brand of lenses and contact lens solution. Next, you enter your shipping & billing info. Finally, you must upload a picture of your prescription or manually enter the required info, which we will verify. Once verified, we ship you your box and each subsequent box will be shipped out every 3 months (bi-weekly & daily wearers) or 6 months (monthly wearers).
Can you "stack" promos on top of each other?

No, you can only use 1 promo code at a time.

What is your refund/return policy for the Optikal subscription box?

Once the box is received and opened, all charges are final. However, if you send the box back unopened, we will refund the box. Also, if you did not request for a signature requirement on your shipments, you must pay up-front for another box to be sent out.

When/how can I cancel my subscription box service?

You can cancel your service at any time without penalty by emailing us at [email protected] with your first & last name and letting us know you want to cancel.

Faqs for Doctors Questions


What is Optikal and how does it work?

Optikal is a subscription service that breaks up the cost of an in-store comprehensive eye exam/contact lens fitting, annual supply of contacts and contact care supplies into monthly payments.

Patients sign up with Optikal and we call your office to confirm pricing of your eye exam and contact lens fitting. The patient receives a VISA card to pay full price for both an eye exam and contact lens fitting at their appointment.

What services does Optikal pay for?

We cover the comprehensive eye exam (including dilation/refraction) and contact lens fitting (including follow-ups). We don’t cover glasses-related services, advanced retinal screening services such as Optomap or Optos; patients can pay for these services out of pocket if they choose to.

Does Optikal have a preferred provider network?

No, we don’t have any special deals with doctors or have a network. Instead, we want patients to continue building their relationship with their current optometrist or have the freedom to go where they like if they choose to do so without limitations.
